Occupational Medicine Services
Occupational medicine (also known as “occupational health”) is focused on the treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses. Physicians, like Dr. Webb, trained in and concentrate on occupational medicine, diagnose and treat work-related injuries much more effectively than most primary care physicians. They’re up-to-date on federal and state regulations for workforce health and safety, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), so they can make the best treatment plans and perform regulatory examinations. Occupational medicine physicians often work directly with employers to keep businesses running and employees safe and healthy on the job.
Dr. John Alexander Webb has been a healthcare professional since 2001. Initially practicing as a chiropractic physician in the state of South Carolina, he began a very successful set of practices and was able to help countless people. Now, Dr. Webb focuses on occupational medicine and assisting businesses with pre-employment clearance exams, occupational (OSHA) required exposure reduction, injury evaluation and management, and helps employees return to work quickly with over 20 years of workers compensation experience.
In his role of Chief Operations Officer at Men's Health Boston (a Beth Israel Deaconess and Harvard Medical School affiliated practice), he continued to demonstrate his business acumen and leadership in multiple dimensions. Overseeing a successful internal research division and creating a state-of-the-art preventive cardiovascular preventive care program were just two of his major accomplishments to move toward his vision.
His focus today is on preventive measures to reduce occupational injuries and exposures common in many industries. Dr. Webb provides clinical and consultation services for persons with occupational and environmental illnesses and conditions, including communicable disease prevention and control, chemical exposures and worker's compensation cases. Services include expert clinical employee health services, pre-placement and periodic exams, medical surveillance exams and case management for workers with work-related conditions. Also offered are comprehensive independent medical examinations and medical review officer evaluations. His experience and training make him an expert in preventive occupational medicine.
